SKMEI digital and analog-digital watches use a small set of buttons that work in a similar way across most models. The exact sequence changes from model to model, so always check the instruction sheet that comes in the box. This guide explains the general logic so the sheet makes sense quickly.
Know the buttons
The function of each button is usually printed next to it on the case:
- MODE: moves between the screens — time, alarm, stopwatch, countdown and second time zone.
- ADJUST or SET: enters setting mode. On most models you press and hold it for about 3 seconds until the digits flash.
- START: starts and stops the stopwatch; in setting mode it usually increases the flashing value.
- RESET: resets the stopwatch; in setting mode it usually moves to the next value or switches 12/24 hours.
- LIGHT: turns on the backlight.
Setting the time and date (typical steps)
- Press MODE until you are on the normal time screen.
- Press and hold ADJUST (or SET) until the seconds flash.
- Press the button marked for reset to zero the seconds, then move on to hours, minutes, year, month and day.
- Use START (or the button shown on the sheet) to change each flashing value.
- Press ADJUST again to save and exit.
Setting the alarm
- Press MODE until the alarm screen appears (often marked AL).
- Hold ADJUST until the hour flashes, change it, move to the minutes and change them.
- Press ADJUST to save. On the alarm screen, START usually turns the alarm and the hourly chime on or off.
Analog-digital watches: two separate times
On models like the SKMEI 1220 or the SKMEI 2471, the hands and the digital screen are independent. You set the hands with the crown (pull it out, turn, push back in) and the digital time with the buttons. This is how you show two time zones at once.
